Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Casa FC Porto Sydney (“we”, “us”, “the Club”) is an incorporated association in New South Wales and an official affiliated Casa of Futebol Clube do Porto, Portugal. Our website is casafcporto.sydney.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The FC Porto name, crest and images are trademarks of Futebol Clube do Porto and are used under licence.
2. What we collect
- Identity — name, date of birth
- Contact — postal address, email address, phone number
- Membership — member number, category, join date, expiry, status, FC Porto member number
- Payments — amount, date, method and reference. We never see or store your card number, as card details go directly to our payment providers
- Orders — items purchased, delivery address, order history
- Communications — your email preferences, and messages you send us
- Website use — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited
- Family — for members under 18, a parent or guardian’s name and contact details
We do not collect sensitive information such as health, race, religion or political opinions.
We do not sell your personal information.
We keep your information only for as long as we need it, or for as long as the law requires, and then delete it or remove anything that identifies you. Financial records are kept for 7 years, as tax and associations law requires.
3. Why we collect it
- To process your membership and maintain the register of members
- To take and record membership payments
- To process and deliver merchandise orders
- To send you club news and event information, if you have asked to receive it
- To send membership renewal reminders
- To answer your enquiries
- To keep our website working and secure
- To meet our record keeping obligations under associations and tax law
4. How we collect it
- Directly from you, through membership applications, renewals, orders, newsletter signup and enquiries
- In person at Club events, when you buy merchandise using our card reader
- From a parent or guardian, where the member is under 18
- Automatically, through cookies and similar technology when you use our website
- From our service providers, for example confirmation that a payment succeeded
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with organisations that help us run the Club, and only as much as they need.

Sharing with FC Porto
Casa FC Porto Sydney is an officially affiliated Casa of Futebol Clube do Porto. As a condition of that affiliation we provide Casas FC Porto in Portugal with a list of our members, and they may ask us for member information from time to time to verify our affiliation or confirm entitlements.
The information we provide is limited to your full name, member numbers, email address and telephone number. We do not provide your postal address, date of birth, or any payment information.
If you would prefer your details not to be included, email info@casafcporto.sydney. Please note that some entitlements offered by FC Porto to Casa members may not be available if they cannot verify your membership.
6. Sending information overseas
Some of our service providers store information outside Australia, in the United States, Canada and Portugal, as set out in the table above. Before disclosing information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
Email info@casafcporto.sydney. We may need to confirm your identity first, so that we do not give your information to someone else.
We will respond within 30 days and we do not charge a fee. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will explain why and tell you how to complain.
8. Our emails, and how to stop them
We send club news by email only. We do not send marketing by SMS, WhatsApp or telephone.
Every marketing email carries a one click unsubscribe link, and tells you why you are receiving it. Receiving our emails is optional and is never a condition of membership. You can also simply reply and ask us to stop.
9. Members under 18
If you are under 18, we need the consent of a parent or guardian before you join and before we send you club emails. That consent can be withdrawn at any time by the parent or guardian, or by the young person, by emailing info@casafcporto.sydney or using the unsubscribe link in any email.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please tell us first. Email info@casafcporto.sydney. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published at casafcporto.sydney.
